GET FAMILIAR: UZOAMAKA MADUKA

Literary critics have proclaimed this era as, "the death of literary publications"; guess someone didn't tell that to The American Reader editor, Uzoamaka Maduka.

Born to Nigerian parents, Princeton graduate Uzoamaka Maduka has made a name for herself in the literary world with her smart, funny publication, The American Reader. After having a conversation with then boyfriend, and eventual executive editor, Jac Mullen, the two realized they had a distinctive voice and points of view that hadn't been heard, thus The American reader was born.

The monthly journal gives an insightful look into the world of literature, film, art, fiction and poetry. Led by its determined and charismatic editor, The American Reader has the potential to become one of the most significant publications to date, and I'm sure Uzoamaka Maduka wouldn't have it any other way.
