SPORTS: NBA PLAYOFFS 2013 ROUND 1
First round of the playoffs are officially over. A few of our fave Africans are out (see full list here), but we still have some left so we're happy! Unfortunately, there are no longer any Los Angeles teams, so DJ & I are pretty upset and are in mourning. Take a look.

AFRICAN ART:IBRAHIM EL-SALAHI
Ibrahim El-Salahi is an acclaimed Sudanese painter, who has been painting since the 1950's. Considered to be a pioneer of Sudanese art, he has developed a very interesting and unique art style, combining Arabic calligraphy and lines to produce striking pieces.

MUSIC MONDAY: MANYANG REATH
Manyang Reath is the founder of the Humanity Helping Sudan Project. A refugee at the age of three, Manyang spent over a decade living in camps along the Sudanese and Ethiopian border, where he suffered from various hardships. Thankfully, after years of living in terrible conditions, he was able to move to America and attend college.
