Open heart is the story of eight Rwandan children that travel to Sudan for a life-changing open heart surgery. Watch the trailer here. 

Best Foreign Language Film 

Rachel Mwanza plays the lead in this tale of a young girl abducted from her village and forced to become a child soldier. Mwanza was cast in this role after being "discovered" from the Kinshasa Kids documentary, which showed her and other children living on the streets. She's gone from homeless to Hollywood. Best Short Film (Live Action)

In this Oscar nominated short, a boy from a poor war-torn fishing village in Somali must decide between piracy and life as a fisherman. Watch the trailer here.
