Esther Mbabazi made history this year, as she became the first female pilot to fly for Rwandair. She trained in the Soroti flight school of Uganda and was so good that she had the rest of her training sponsored by Rwandair.
One of the things that makes her accomplishment even more amazing is that though her father, who was also a pilot, died in a plane crash while he was flying a Rwandair plane, the accident didn't deter her from pursuing her childhood dream. According to Esther, her father's death helped mold her character as a pilot, and it makes her a bit more safe in the air.
