FRENCH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Debuting back in 1986, the French International Film Festival celebrates the best and brightest of French cinema.
The eight day festival,  held in Namur, Belgium, allows directors, producers, writers, and performers, who are involved in French-speaking cinema, the opportunity to showcase their films and offers several awards, including cash prizes for Best Film and Special Jury Award.

Nabil Ayouch

Several African filmmakers will be competing for this year's coveted Bayard d'Or Award; among them are, The God of Horses, by Moroccan filmmaker Nabil Ayouch; La Pirogue (The Canoe),  from Senegalese filmmaker Moussa Touré;  and Today,  the third feature from Franco-Senegalese filmmaker Alain Gomis.

Kadija Leclere

There are also two very strong African films in the festival, Morocco's Bag of Flour, by Kadija Leclere and Franco-Egyptian filmmaker Namir Abdel Messeeh's  The Virgin, the Copts, and Me; both are in competition for the Bayard d'Or for Best First Film.
