FASHION FRIDAY: ARISE MAGAZINE

Arise Magazine is probably the most influential magazine that caters to the African community. It covers everything that has to do with African style and culture, from fashion, to beauty,  to the arts, to entertainment, to politics, to sports; if it has anything to do with Africa, then Arise  will surely be talking about it. 

Their aim is to show Africa in a positive light and highlight the contributions that Africans make to society. I appreciate that though the focus is on the African influence, they also feature different prominent non-Africans, such as  business mogul Jay-Z, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and their most recent cover girl, actress Kerry Washington.

Arise has also been putting together a fashion show during NYFW,  that has now become one of the must-see shows of Fashion Week.

This magazine is editorially and visually stimulating and has truly inspired. I urge everyone to go to their local newsstands to pick up a copy.
