GET FAMILIAR: KUNLE AFOLAYAN

Hailed as the "Scorsese of Lagos",  Nigerian actor-turned-director Kunle Afolayan is at the top of his game. Having recently debuted his comedy, "Phone Swap", at the Film Africa 2012 Festival in London, Afolayan has set his sights on bringing Nollywood to Hollywood.

As a child,  Afolayan would accompany his father, legendary cinema/theater artist Adeyemi "Love" Afolayan, on film sets ,where his love of film-making was born. After working a few years as an actor, Kunle decided to try his hand at directing and attended the New York Film Academy.

With several popular Nigerian films under his belt, including the five time award winning film "Araromire" ("Dolly"), Kunle is confident "Phone Swap" has what it takes to bring Nollywood overseas.
