GUESS...WHO'S AFRICAN?

Storm
When you think of the word “Africa“ do you think of superheroes? The answer is most likely no, but you have heard of at least one African superhero, Ororo Munroe, but you probably know her better as "Storm". Making her first appearance in “Giant-Size X-Men “#1 in 1975, Storm was born in New York City to a Kenyan tribal princess and an American photographer. After the tragic death of her parents, an orphaned Storm wandered around the streets of Cairo until a chance meeting with Professor Charles Xavier led to her joining the X-men.

Black Panther

Known as the ruler of Wakanda, T’challa a.k.a “Black Panther", is the first black mainstream comic book superhero. Black Panther was first introduced in issue #52 of the Fantastic Four (1966) and has since become a prominent character in Marvel comics. The title of Black Panther is for those who are the chief of the country and they are given a special heart shaped herb that grants them superhuman abilities, a gift from the Panther god. Black Panther is a highly intelligent man( one of the 8 smartest people on Earth), an extremely skilled fighter and a brilliant strategist, a quality that makes him one of the most dangerous men on the planet. Panther has to often balance his responsibilities as the leader of Wakanda and his obligations to the superhero team “The Avengers”.

Africa is not only the birthplace of life, it also is the home of some pretty badass superheroes, too.
